What Is a Slip Lead Leash?

The PupFitters Slip Lead Leash is a premium quality dog leash that slips directly over the dog’s head. The Slip Lead Leash is designed to temporarily leash dogs not wearing a harness or collar. The Slip Lead Leash is ideally suited for groomers, kennels, shelters, animal control officers and other dog care applications. The Slip Lead Leash is available in two sizes, Small and Medium. Small size is for the little ones under 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms). Medium size is for dogs between 25-125 pounds (11.3 - 56.7 kilograms). Design of our Slip Lead Dog Leash

PupFitters donates leashes to the local animal shelter. We gave the shelter a variety of snap hook style utility leashes. While they love the snap hook types the volunteers asked if we had any slip on leashes for lassoing strays and shuttling dogs around the facility. In response we designed the PupFitters Slip Lead Leash. The leash is made to quickly and safely secure the dog with a minimum of fuss. As it is meant for daily usage in a variety of harsh environments the leash is built strong and reliable.

Slip Lead Leash Description

The PupFitters Slip Lead Leash is a derivative of the ever popular PupFitters Utility Leash and uses the same quality components (except the snap hook). The rope is a high strength multi-filament polypropylene blend. The rope is water resistant and will not rot or mildew. The material is also resistant to damage from ultraviolet exposure. The rope weave is soft to the touch and has just a little bit of stretch or “give” for comfort.

The loops forming the handle and noose are secured using aircraft grade nylon webbing. The webbing is sewn with aircraft grade thread and double stitched using industrial sewing machines. The handle is large enough to use while wearing gloves. The handle attachment webbing forms a secure hand grip that provides extra leverage for dogs that tend to pull while on leash.

To operate the PupFitters Slip Lead Leash simply slip the leash over the dog’s neck and cinch down the built in stopper to keep the leash from slipping off the dog’s head. Every PupFitters Leash is equipped with a solid brass “D” ring sewn securely into the rope near the handle. This provides an attachment point for a variety of items such as keys, waste bags, flashlights, pepper spray, etc.
