What is PupFitters?
PupFitters is a multinational industrial design and manufacturing conglomerate employing more than 100,000 professionals and skilled workers in thirty countries—no not really. Actually PupFitters is just one somewhat demented aeronautical engineer, one frazzled assistant and a pack of dogs who work for food.
What does PupFitters do?
PupFitters designs premium quality, high performance equipment for serious dog owners. Dogs are, among other things, a huge commitment. Whether they’re show dogs, gun dogs, expert lap loungers or canine clowns; our dogs demand a lot of our time, attention and money. PupFitter’s mission is to supply products that make living with dogs a safer and more enjoyable experience for people and their canine companions. Currently, we are selling leashes, travel bags, bailout/bug out bags and canine first aid kits.
How did PupFitters Begin?
I am very particular about the quality of all of the tools, equipment and gadgets we use every day. According to my wife what I call “particular” really means “obsessive compulsive” to normal people. So maybe they’ll name some kind of mental disorder after me. But the bottom line is that when it comes to utility gear my performance and durability standards are very high. Over the years I had trouble finding superior quality items for our own dogs. Sometimes I just gave up looking for things and made my own. The first project was to make a durable and comfortable general purpose walking leash.
My wife and I started using our custom “one off” leash around town and at the dog parks. After awhile other dog owners were asking us where to get the leashes. Most people did not believe that anyone was fool enough to spend their precious free time reinventing the dog leash. However, a few people asked me to make them a couple of leashes for their prized pooches. As word spread, demand for the leashes blossomed. In calendar year 2006 we decided to turn my avocation into a real business.
Where is PupFitters?
PupFitters is from a strange and distant planet called Connecticut. Well it’s not really a different planet, occasionally it just seems that way. I’m no historian but I have heard that the name Connecticut is derived from an old Indian phrase meaning either “insufferable taxes” or “substandard public infrastructure.” I could be wrong about that, but I don’t think so. We are located in the bucolic little Town of Trumbull, about fifty miles away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Anyway, we love Trumbull and we thank all of the government officials and private citizens who have graciously decided not to run us out of town (for now).
What is PupFitter’s warranty/return policy?
Our warranty/return policy is simple. If at any time a product from PupFitters fails to meet your expectations just return the item for a full refund of the purchase price. No exclusions, limitations or tricks.
What don’t we do?
We won’t sell junk. Our performance and durability standards are very high.
We don’t sell conspicuous consumption articles or ”doggie bling” such as jewelry, novelty T-shirts, dog costumes and the like. We sell products that truly benefit dogs and their owners.
We don’t supply large quantities of food and other consumables. We are a small company and we aim to keep it that way. Large companies have efficient high volume distribution networks and can deliver at lower cost.
How are PupFitter customers treated?
Our business philosophy is simple. We supply exceptional products at a reasonable price and go the extra mile to provide good service. We won’t insult your intelligence with gimmicks or come-ons. We won’t hide behind low wage “customer relations specialists” or multi-layered phone trees that lead nowhere. We have a no nonsense guaranty: 100% satisfaction forever, no fine print. In short we treat our customers the way we treat our dogs—with care and respect.
Does PupFitters give back to the community?
Yes, PupFitters supports a variety of animal welfare organizations.
